Whether you’re in the mood for breakfast, lunch or dinner, Hamburger Express has got it all.
Located where the 605 freeway and the 60 freeway meet, this burger joint has a huge selection of food ranging from an omelet for breakfast to a T-bone steak for dinner.
They also offer specials throughout the day that are affordable. Employee Manuel Larin shared his thought on which combo was the most popular, “The bacon cheeseburger special has got to be the best, not a day goes by where we don’t sell a couple of those.”
At Hamburger Express, not only is the food good but the portions that they serve are massive and are able to feed two people. Any combo on the menu is guaranteed to get you stuffed. All meals are served with fries, onion rings, and a soft drink.
A popular choice for an appetizer is the fried zucchini, which is made with a crispy breaded crust and served with a side of ranch dressing. When biting into this amazing snack the first thing that comes to mind is the taste. There is not much grease on their foods so you are able to taste the fresh zucchini and the home cooked breading. Each bite you take will lead you to another.
The chili cheese fries are like nothing you have ever tasted before. French fries smothered with their express chili and fresh grated cheese is spread all across so you can watch it melt. With each bite, you can taste the hearty flavored filled chili. The French fries taste similar to hash browns and they are always cooked to perfection, nice and crispy.
Their burgers are quite something as well. Full of meat, lettuce, onions, tomato, and different sauces, each bite leaves your mouth watering for more. Each time you sink your teeth into one of these burgers you can’t help but taste the char-broiled patty which goes perfect with their thousand island sauce.
For those who can’t decide on something form their menu, there is a salad bar available. Fresh lettuce prepared everyday as well as home made dressings.
Along with the scrumscious food comes a welcoming atmosphere. The building is very clean and the staff couldn’t be friendlier.
Frequent visitor Andrew Avila gave his opinion about the place, “This is an efficient neighborhood burger joint that has been in business for awhile because they serve great tasting food at reasonable prices. They know what their customers want and they give it to them: generous portions and tasty food for a good value.”
Hamburger express is open seven days a week and starts serving food as early as 5:30 a.m. There is a dining room for those who want to have a sit down meal and also a drive thru for those who want to take their food to go.
Either way, you can’t go wrong with Hamburger Express. Great food, healthy portions, and a tremendous staff is what this place is about.
