Wing House’s expansive menu satisfies tastebuds

Students who attend the South Gate campus have plenty of choices to choose from when it comes to food surrounding the area, but Wing House offers a menu that is more than just wings.

The restaurant is set up like a sports bar with all the televisions and projection screen tuned in to the latest sporting events, but the restaurant is open to all ages. Upon walking in, there is an assortment of booths to the left and right walls of the floorplan which fit upto four people.

There are also tables placed in the middle area to accommodate parties of four or more and stools available at the bar for anyone visiting solo.

The specialty on the menu are the wings which are featured on the last page with many different flavors and quantities available. The flavors the classic hot, mild, teriyaki,honey bbq, spicy bbq, seasoned, Thai chili, lemon pepper, lime chili and nuclear.

An assortment of different foods can be found to satisfy the hunger of anyone. The menu starts off by offering appetizers such as potato skins, chicken tenders and cheese and chili cheese fries. There is also some healthy options to choose from that include salad and wraps.

A personal favorite is the “BYOB” burger option, which lets guests build their own burger.

The patty choices include beef, veggie, chicken or spicy chicken.

Guests can also customize the bun, toppings and even add an extra patty, fried shrimp, fish or pastrami.

The menu also features an assortment of sandwiches from their house pastrami to a Philly cheesesteak.

The waitresses are prompt and make sure that customers are good on drinks or food orders, but upon arriving, customers might have a better time finding their own seats than to wait to be seated.

The pricing of the plates is fair and start at $6.99 for an order of six wings with a side of fries. For those of age, a cold beer can also be enjoyed to go along with the food. Beer is served in frozen mugs and comes from a tap that includes domestics and imports. Those beers include Coors Light, Blue Moon, Angry Orchid, Sam Adams, Fat Tire, Sierra Nevada, Pyramid Hefeweizen and Firestone Union Jack IPA.

The pricing on the beer starts at $5 for a 16 oz glass and larger servings are available including pitchers. The atmosphere varies depending on what sporting events are on but the place is great for just getting some food after class or cheering on your favorite teams with friends.

Wing House is located at 4338 Tweety Blvd. in South Gate and is Monday thru Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m, 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. on Saturdays.
