The Force awakens at East Los Angeles College with the first three installments of the legendary “Star Wars” franchise.

The Amateur Film Group will be hosting its first “Star Wars” three day event for all students, staff and facility.

“We hope to bring a event that welcomes all students and members of the ELAC family” Amateur Film Group Vice President David Mamcilla said.

The three day screening will be taking place in the lecture hall of the Vincent Price Art Museum.

Each showing begins at 7 p.m. with first come first serve seating. The event will start today with the first “Star Wars” film.

Before the film, there will be trivia about it along with the original trailer of the film.

Like the Wednesday showings, the Thursday and Friday showings will consist of the same activities for “The Empire Strikes Back” on Thursday and “Return Of The Jedi” on Friday.

The group will also have a “Star Wars” themed photo booth with props such as lightsabers and poster board cutouts of characters from the films.

The group will also be selling refreshments like hotdogs, sodas, and water to enjoy during each viewing.

There will also be a costume contest open to attendees.

The group will also be having a raffle with the cost of $3 to $5 for each ticket.

Prizes include T-shirts, posters and other items.

The group hopes to continue with events like this each semester.
