The women’s basketball team won a close game against City College of San Francisco 51-47 at Los Positas College in Livermore, to advance to the state championship game on Sunday.

Freshman guard Brianne Cheatum came off the bench and scored 11 points. Freshman guard Allissa Gomez led the Huskies with 20 points.

ELAC was out sized by SF but held its ground by turning over the ball only 10 times.  The Huskies created 19 turnovers against SF which proved to be the difference in the game.

The state championship will be held at 1 p.m. at LPC against South Coast Conference rival Mount San Antonio College.

ELAC will be tested by MSAC. The Huskies lost to MSAC back on Jan. 22, 82-72 and on Feb. 10, 82-60. MSAC has lost one game this season and holds a 33-1 record.
