East Los Angeles College volleyball was swept in its third consecutive loss against El Camino College 3-0 on Friday at home.

El Camino has dominated the Huskies for the past six seasons with 10 wins all with the same score of 3-0.

The Huskies lost the first set 25-11, second set 25-23 and the third set 25-18.

El Camino had a dominant first set taking the lead 10-4 before ELAC head coach Elliot Walker called for a timeout.

In the second set, ELAC and El Camino were going head-to-head with the Huskies taking the lead at moments and El Camino regaining it.

“It’s about starting strong the first set, but we just lacked that confidence,” said sophomore middle hitter Kayla Dickerson.

The Huskies came up short in the third set after being tied 15-15. El Camino was able to capitalize on ELAC’s mistakes and win the game.

“I don’t think we played bad today. It was just a little bit of inconsistency and we needed to find our confidence again,” said Dickerson.

ELAC also competed in a day tournament at Chaffey College and lost its first game against MiraCosta College 3-0, with scores of 25-23, 25-16 and 25-18 on Saturday.

After the weekend loss, ELAC volleyball is on a four-game losing streak with an overall record of 5-5.

The Huskies next game will be today at 6 p.m. as they visit Los Angeles Trade Tech College in another non-conference match.
