Inconsistencies lead to poor season

Men’s soccer season ended
in the third round of the South
Coast Conference Tournament
against El Camino College in a
1-0 away loss.
The month of September wasn’t
the best for
the Huskies.
Following the
first game of
September,
East Los
Angeles College went
on a six game
losing streak.
They broke
out of that
slump with a
3-0 win against
Los Angeles
Harborat
home.
The Huskies ended the season
with a record of 6-14-3, scoring
an average of 1.05 goals per game
and letting in 1.77 goals per game.
Freshman goalkeeper Oscar
Ponce’s performance gained
him a spot in the Southern Coast

Conference first team. Freshman
defender Cristian Carranza also
was honored with first-team all
conference. French international
defender Hugo Roberts and
defender Jason Trujillo were
both granted second team all
conference.
ELAC’s biggest victory was
a 4-1 away win over Compton
College on
sophomore
day. Their
biggest defeat
came against
Chaffey in a
6-0 away loss.
ELAC had
their worst
record when
playing
away where
their record
was 3-10-1.
Throughout
the season
ELAC scored 23 goals. At home
ELAC was 3-4-2 and in the
conference 3-4-1. Their longest
win streak was two games
in November. ELAC’s shot
percentage was .242 and their
shots-per game stat was 4.3.
