Women’s Waterpolo struggles in the season due to COVID-19

COVID-19 had a toe on the East Los Angeles College women’s water polo team. It was a hard season for the team. The Huskies finished the season with a 1-17 record.
It’s been a tough situation for East Los Angeles College Head Coach Bruce Turner with the pandemic still ongoing.
“[COVID-19] has affected recruiting and our numbers,” Turner said.
The team currently has 14 players on the roster. There are nine sophomores and five freshmen on the team. Three players are still pending to join the team.
The East Los Angeles College Huskies upset the College of the Canyons Cougars 10-7. The Cougars were undefeated coming into the game and are now 7-1 on the season
East Los Angeles College administrators will allow indoor sports to have fans in the stands during home games. It has been a month since the volleyball and water polo teams have been playing without fans during home games.
The East Los Angeles College football team is currently ranked 23rd in the California Community College Sports Information Association rankings. The ELAC Huskies have a record of two wins and two losses in the season.
