Scholarship to run on tequila

Academic pathways toward success get rather pricey. However, what if some of those expenses were paid for with tequila? Gerardo Madrigal, a statistics professor at East Los Angeles College, has a plan to create his very own tequila and use a percentage of the revenue to sponsor a scholarship for ELAC students.

Club hopes to gain, help undocumented student members

The new East Los Angeles College club, the Undocu-Huskies has a scholarship of $600 up for grabs with a deadline of this Friday at 11:59 p.m. The idea for the club came from a meeting between the current members and Dream Resource Center’s Maira Cruz. The group quickly decided that creating a club was key to helping students at ELAC.

Student receives $30,000 Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship
