The Dream Resource Center is conducting classroom presentations informing students of resources available to undocumented students and LGBTQ students.
The UndocuHuskies club was started last semester and since then has done everything possible to help undocumented students on the ELAC campus.
The UndocuHuskies club has 15 slots available for a free college tour and retreat for May 10-12 and the deadline to apply is March 15.
The Undocu-Huskies are throwing an event to help the student body blow off steam and also provide some quality time for students to get to know the club. The event is a “posada,” a traditional Latino celebration that occurs before Christmas.
The new East Los Angeles College club, the Undocu-Huskies has a scholarship of $600 up for grabs with a deadline of this Friday at 11:59 p.m. The idea for the club came from a meeting between the current members and Dream Resource Center’s Maira Cruz. The group quickly decided that creating a club was key to helping students at ELAC.
Students and faculty take turns to speak in solidarity with undocumented people Thursday. The rally was organized by the Delloro Transfer Program, the Puente Club, the Writers Society and the UndocuHuskies.
