Students balance parenting and online classes during pandemic
The world quickly caved in on many East Los Angeles College students who balance their time between coursework and children due to pandemic. Maria Fernanda Rodriguez, 24, like many parents, copes with the little free time she can get. Between cooking breakfast, and logging in to her zoom sessions, lunchtime quickly approaches and she is back in the kitchen to make a meal.

Cameras should be turned on for online classes

Some students are unable to have their camera on whether it be because of financial or personal reasons. But they can let the instructor know about it.
They can sort out the problem and come to an understanding. Having cameras on can simulate the in-classroom feeling.
Trauma victims informed on new support, resource options
The East Los Angeles Women’s Center taught mindful techniques that can be used to help victims of domestic violence find resources and support. Trauma and Healing, the interactive workshop, was held on Monday in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month via Zoom.
LACCD enrollment drops during pandemic
Enrollment is down across all nine Los Angeles Community College District schools. With the exception of Los Angeles City College, all LACCD colleges are experiencing a 10% decrease, at least, in enrollment when comparing Fall 2020 to Fall 2019.
