East Los Angeles College honored its graduates on Tuesday during a graduation ceremony at Weingart Stadium.
“We are honored to be able to accomplish this for the students,” said ELAC President Marvin Martinez.

Graduates’ families and friends were present in the event. Part of ELAC administratio spoke in front of the students and families.
“You (for the students) could do it. You could graduated and now you have to follow news goals. Always looking forward, watching and thinking in your future,” President Martinez said. Among the graduates, was Ana Garcia “I’m really excited, tired but finally done,” Garcia said. “Now my goal is go to the next step, continue my school and transfer. I want to transfer to University of California Los Angeles,”
Another student who graduated was art major Brenda Esquivel, who was excited by the moment.
“I´m so happy. I graduated from Arts. I have four children so I had to work hard to have time to study,” Esquivel said. “I want to transfer to Loma Linda University. These two years at ELAC was really good. Teachers always were with me when I needed their help”.
President Martinez, was excited for the event. “We are honored to be able to accomplish this for the students. We are honored for all the wonderful things that they have done at the school,” Martinez said.
“We are honored to be able to showcase for the parents the college. Obviously the students are excited and happy. This is what as good as it gets. This is what we live for, this is about the outcome.” Martinez said.
“I enjoyed the event. There was a lot of good speeches, there was vibe in the audience with the students, there were excited about being there, they didn’t look bored” Martinez said.
