East Los Angeles College Students were victims of fraud emails involving a scam to gain access to their bank accounts.
Gilberto Sandoval, assistant soccer coach at East Los Angeles College, died Sept. 7 leaving behind family, ELAC friends and players. The ELAC Athletic Department website said Sandoval died of complications due to COVID-19. He started his coaching career at ELAC with the women’s soccer team. He then became assistant coach on the ELAC men’s soccer team.
On campus enrollment for East Los Angeles College is “Saturday, August 21 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.” said the ELAC website. Students should bring identification information and will be allowed to apply for fall classes.

Current Interim President Alberto J. Roman was unanimously elected as East Los Angeles College’s next permanent president by the Los Angeles Community College District Board of Trustees on Dec. 16. Roman is set to begin on Jan. 1, 2021.

The Los Angeles Community College District created a safe place for constituents to share their personal experiences with depression and other mental issues. They hosted a mental health workshop to introduce ways to identify and support people with mental health issues.
East Los Angeles College as well as all other Los Angeles Community College District colleges will be used as voting centers for the 2020 election. LACCD announced that ELAC would serve as a vote center just as it did for the March primaries.
