The Immigrants Rising group raises awareness among staff, faculty, and administrators on how to create access and opportunities for Black undocumented students in higher education programs throughout the country.
Current students, faculty and staff who are considered immigrant survivors may be eligible for a United States visa through services offered by the Central American Resource Center.
Updates on rapidly-changing immigration laws were given Tuesday for the “Know Your Rights” event, hosted by East Los Angeles College along with local groups. The presentation focused on four major topics, Special Immigration Juvenile Status, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, Public Charge and how Marijuana can affect the Immigration process.
