ELAC campus prime political stop

With East Los Angeles College’s 75th anniversary, many students may find ELAC’s history in the political sphere interesting. The campus has hosted many political events such as rallies from presidential candidates, some as recent as last year, to debates for local races. ELAC even has a former professor currently serving as an elected United States Representative in Congress, former professor Judy Chu.

California Congresswoman Judy Chu and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi held a discussion at East Los Angeles College last Tuesday entirely focused on health care. ELAC students and faculty from the Nursing Department were invited to the not widely known event. The emphasis was on the Affordable Care Act, public charge and reducing the prices of prescription drugs.

Coach Lynn Cain terminated after successful season
