ELAC wrestlers take it one match at a time

The East Los Angeles College wrestling team is ranked 10th in the California Community College Wrestling rankings. This is Miguel Soto’s first year as the head coach for the Huskies’ wrestling team. Soto has been an assistant head coach previously at ELAC.

COVID-19 disrupts women’s basketball team recruitment

It’s been a tough situation for  East Los Angeles College Head Coach Bruce Turner with the pandemic still ongoing.

“[COVID-19] has affected recruiting and our numbers,” Turner said. 

The team currently has 14 players on the roster. There are nine sophomores and five freshmen on the team. Three players are still pending to join the team.

Huskies lose to Falcons once more

The East Los Angeles College football team snapped its two-game losing streak against Cerritos College, winning 17-14. ELAC’s defense was a major factor in the game. Cerritos’ run game seemed to have an advantage against ELAC’s defense in the first quarter.

Huskies lose fourth football game of season

The Huskies lost their fourth football game of the season to Long Beach City College, 24-6. 

This is their second loss in a row, and they are now 3-4 on the season.  

The rushing game led the Vikings to the Huskies territory. A 30-yard play-action pass to a wide-open receiver, Zack Leets, gave the Vikings the lead early in the first quarter, 7-0.
