Women’s water polo in deep water

During the second game of the Golden West College tournament the Huskies lost 18-3. The East Los Angeles College women’s water polo team struggled to stay afloat, scoring in only 2 of the 4 quarters on Saturday. They currently are 0-5.

Theater arts students design costumes featured in musical

The Gary Marshall Theatre has partnered with East Los Angeles College to provide two student interns for the production of “The Root Beer Bandits.” Hannah Sadeghian and Lisa Hong, both working toward costume certificates through ELAC’s Theater Arts department, worked on the design and construction of costumes featured in a stage performance of a Wild West family musical.

Volunteer work available at LAC+USC Medical Center

The Career and Jobs Services department gave students access to volunteer opportunities in the medical services community. On Thursday, the LAC+USC Medical Center took part in East Los Angeles College’s monthly “Employer Meet & Greet” over Zoom to discuss the process of applying and onboarding for volunteer work at it’s facility.

Pregnant women more at risk of illness from COVID-19

Pregnant people should be included in early clinical trials of pandemic vaccines. Excluding this subset of the population is detrimental to everyone.
According to The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there is an increased risk of severe illness and pregnancy complications from COVID-19 for pregnant people.
