The Gary Marshall Theatre has partnered with East Los Angeles College to provide two student interns for the production of “The Root Beer Bandits.” Hannah Sadeghian and Lisa Hong, both working toward costume certificates through ELAC’s Theater Arts department, worked on the design and construction of costumes featured in a stage performance of a Wild West family musical.
ELAC’s Theater Department mastered comedy in an encore presentation of their Spring 2021 production of “From the Works of John Leguizamo East Coast to East Los,” at El Centro del Sur, A Place Called Home’s inaugural Latinx Theater Festival.
By Stevie Rodriguez Clifton Smith is currently starring in the play “Kindred” at East Los Angeles College, directed by Daniel Keleher, which runs on the weekends of May 16-18 & 23-25. Smith has acted in three other plays but this is his first lead role. Smith’s character in Kindred is Joey, whom is a prisoner facing a life sentence.
